Heroes and Angels Annual Spring Event
honoring
Iris Weinmann and Allison Lee
Saturday, May 6, 2023
Once again, we are proud to honor those whose contributions to our community have left an indelible mark on Leo Baeck Temple at our Heroes and Angels event. This year, we couldn’t be more proud to honor two extraordinary women who live their Jewish values in every facet of their personal and professional lives.
Iris Weinmann
Iris Weinmann is only the 8th woman president of Leo Baeck Temple in its 75 year history. Her sensitivity and skill in guiding the temple through the challenges of a worldwide pandemic resulted in new ways of engaging in worship and community. She presided over our first virtual high holydays services and continued to adapt and lead temple leadership via ubiquitous Zoom meetings to maintain contact and connection with the entire congregation. Her deft leadership, while maintaining her legal practice and raising a family, assured that Leo Baeck not only survived, but thrived during an unprecedented time.

Allison Lee
For twenty years, Allison Lee has left her mark on almost every aspect of our community. She has spearheaded, hosted, organized, volunteered, chaired, and supported countless events and activities. Whether celebrating at weddings and b'nai mitzvahs, or leading protests, promoting social action, planning congregational trips, or comforting the bereaved, Allison is there – all this while being an active professional, extraordinary mother, activist, and devoted partner to our Senior Rabbi Ken Chasen.
